The 2009 Little Artist/Big Artist project launched in early September. Six local artists mentored nine student artists from Maplewood. The works created by teams of little and big artists were auctioned at the Cherrywood Art Fair silent auction and proceeds benefitted Maplewood Elementary!
2008 was the inaugural year for the Little Artist/Big Artist project, connecting local sixth grade art students with established artists, giving kids the chance to experience art-making outside of school. The student artists got a glimpse of expanded possibilities for future creative pursuits. Each artist pair was commissioned to create an original work for the Fair Silent Auction.
