Campbell, a native of Dayton, Ohio, moved to Austin in the late 1980s at the behest of Alejandro Escovedo, and formed Loose Diamonds with Scrappy Jud Newcomb. Campbell has since released several acclaimed solo albums and produced albums for other artists as well. His film work includes You’re Gonna Miss Me, a documentary about 13th Floor Elevators frontman Roky Erickson. He also produced and appears in the documentary, All I Know, filmed at a House of Songs songwriting retreat at Denmark’s Engelsholm Castle.
