The 2011 Cherrywood Art fair was a great success!
The 10th Anniversary fair, held at Maplewood Elementary was a hit and featured an expansion into the teacher’s parking lot, showcasing over 100 artists, 4 outside food vendors, 10 live bands, a HUGE silent auction and an interactive Drum Jam!
With approximately 7,000 shoppers attending, we raised over $8,000 to support the arts and artful landscapes in our communities! This, along with a grant from the City of Austin Cultural Arts Division, will allow us to expand Little artist BIG ARTIST and fund other projects.
Artist survey results gave us a 3.8 out of 4, with 4 being FANTASTIC! (Not bad for the “little art fair that could!”)
What some artists said:
- “You have really made an intelligent, safe and happy place for people to
vend, expand, and create community through ART. Excellent.!”
- “What a gift to be included in the Cherrywood Art Fair fold! Everything, from
having the coolest art fair posters in the country, a sweet venue, awesome
staff, and terrific artist amenities make us happy!”
- “Quite honestly, I think this show has grown to be the GEM of Austin Holiday
Season”
